Printing/Backing up your blog

What an excellent way to keep a hard copy for yourself. Not a bad idea to print it on card stock and put in a nice binder. You can have them professionally bound (for a price) at www.blurb.com. I've thought about doing it a year at a time so I have a yearly book of what goes on in our family.

Here are the instructions to do it on your own.

FIRST: click on the following link: BACKUP
NEXT: change the beginning of the address from my blog address to yours. You will see that it will then show ALL of your blog entries all on one page, without archiving any of them.
LAST: save the webpage (using 'save as' or 'save page') to your hard drive. Then go into Word or Publisher and open up the html document (not the folder with all the .jpeg files saved in it). Then change it from webpage view to print view. And it will be a document that needs a little formatting help, but it has your whole blog from beginning to end on it!!

Of course, the blog prints in backwards order, from most recent to the oldest posts. You can put one post per page in Word, then when you print it, you can collate it and reverse the order so it is in the correct order. Or you can copy and paste into a new document that is in the right order. (this will be time consuming!)

WARNING: your pictures will be grainy because it will just be printing the picture sizes as they are on your blog, not as the original one you uploaded. But it's still worth having a paper copy for your own record and enjoyment of flipping through!!
